Mike Ranks Third Among New MPs for Most Answered Written Questions

Mike was ranked third amongst new MPs for receiving answers to submitted written Parliamentary Questions.

In a report released by the website TheyWorkForYou.com, the intake of 232 new MPs from the 2010 General Election were ranked on their activity. This is based on Parliamentary Questions, speaking in debates and the number of times they were mentioned in the media. Mike had 386 written questions answered that were submitted to Government Ministers, the third highest for new MPs. He also ranked 44th in the number of times he was mentioned in the media.

Commenting, Mike said: “I was thrilled to hear that I have been one of the most active MPs of the 2010 intake. I believe it is important to act on constituent enquiries relating to Government policy and Parliamentary Questions are an extremely useful way to find out about specific information on policy. I hope to be even more active during my second year.”
