Mike has donated the prize money that he received from a parliamentary archery competition to the Martlets Hospice.
As part of an awareness campaign for archery ahead of the 2010 Olympic Games, Mike took part in the first ever archery competition on the Speaker’s Green in Parliament. Mike came 3rd out of 100 MPs and has just been awarded £100 to donate to a charity of his choice. In light of the recent financial troubles, Mike chose the Martlets.
Commenting, Mike said: “I was surprised to have won anything, but am delighted to be able to give the Marlets a cheque for £100. Once again, I would urge anyone who is able to help to contact the Martlets as soon as possible.”
