Mike has called on Brighton & Hove City PCT to improve the situation faced by women who have miscarried in the city.

Following calls from constituents supporting the Mumsnet campaign, Mike has written to Amanda Fadero, Chief Executive of Brighton & Hove City PCT calling for improvements to be made in this area and for clarification on the issue generally. Mumsnet is drawing attention to how support and access to medical care is vital to women who miscarry.

Commenting, Mike said: “The experience of a miscarriage is extremely traumatic and it is clear that the care that many women are receiving is not adequate. I have written to Brighton & Hove PCT calling for more to be done to address the situation.”

Mike is a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Maternity, which examines ways to advise the Government on how to drive up standards in maternal health, and recognises the importance of this issue.
