Alice Cooper and Mike Weatherley MP Meet to ‘Rock the House’

Alice visits Parliament

Mike Weatherley, the Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, and founder of Rock the House (www.rockthehouse.me.uk), has today welcomed rock legend Alice Cooper to the Houses of Parliament.

Mike met Alice Cooper this afternoon and gave him a personal tour of the Houses of Parliament and also met with the Speaker of the House, John Bercow MP, on the Terrace. Mike was delighted to receive the support of rock legend Alice for his Rock the House competition

Rock the House was set up by Mike to raise awareness of the importance of intellectual property rights and copyright protection. After the success of the first competition earlier this year, Rock the House will be coming back even louder in 2012.

Commenting, Mike said: “It was a privilege to welcome such a rock icon to parliament and I am grateful for Alice’s support for my Rock the House competition. I first got involved in politics as a result of an MP in 1973 trying to ban Alice Cooper from getting into the country. It is wonderful that now in 2011 we embrace the creativity of such a unique artist as Alice Cooper.”
