Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, is backing a Parliamentary Motion which calls on the Government to commission a study of the economic benefits of Britain’s Air Passenger Duty.
EDM 174, which has received cross-party support, highlights industry concerns that high level of aviation tax is harming UK trade. Mike has received scores of letters and emails from residents who work in the aviation industry with concerns about the impact of our high taxes.
Commenting, Mike said: “I am worried that our high level of aviation tax is actually damaging our economy. I have been contacted by a large number of my constituents about this issue and, having considered the issue, believe that the Government must conduct a review on this matter as soon as possible.”
