Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, and founder of Film the House, is delighted that two local entries have made it to the next round of the competition.
Singer Elvis Jenner and band Echo Rain have both been nominated to go through to the next round of the competition. If they are successful in their individual categories, their films will be shown at a special screening for winners on 30th October on the Terrace of the House of Commons.
Film The House is an innovative and fun Parliamentary initiative to raise the profile of the importance of copyright to film makers, of film itself and the creative industries in general among Parliamentarians and the Government. This aim will be achieved by celebrating the best up-and-coming amateur film producers, directors and script-writers via a national competition. The competition is supported by the All-Party Parliamentary Film Group and The Alliance Against IP Theft. For more information, please visit www.filmthehouse.com.
Commenting, Mike said: “I am really pleased that both Elvis Jenner and Echo Rain have made it through to the next round. Film the House is an excellent opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to demonstrate their potential, get noticed and meet with industry experts. I wish them both the best of luck and hope that I will see them at the winner’s parliamentary reception on 30th October.”
