Mike Weatherley, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Hove and Portslade, has praised the athletes, organisers and spectators for making the Paralympics a resounding success.
With the Paralympics just over half way through, spectators have snapped up tickets for a whole host of events as 4,000 athletes from around the world take part in over 500 events in 21 sports. Like the Olympics, the Paralympic Games have run without a hitch and proved immensely popular at home and abroad.
Commenting, Mike said: “Following such a successful Olympic Games it is great to see the Paralympics doing so well. London’s hosting of the 2012 Games has been one big success story for Britain and Team GB. I wish all the athletes well and will enjoy watching the final few days of sport.”
